Kongwen Lu is the young author of a fantasy novel series that follows a heroic teenager, who he also names Kongwen. Under the guidance of a Black Armor, Kongwen embarks on a quest to end the tyrannical rule of Lord Redmane, however, in a strange twist of events, Kongwen's fantasy begins to penetrate the real world, leading Guan Ning (Lei Jiayin) who is a deadbeat father to accept a mission from Lord Redmane's assassin Tu Ying to kill the author in exchange of the safe return of his daughter.
