In 1974 Florida, 29-year-old on-air news reporter Chubbuck is both ruthlessly motivated and exceptionally intelligent. Despite her talents, she finds herself frequently at odds with her boss, who deviates from her passion in human-interest pieces and prioritises crime reporting, in the interest of ratings. Frustrated by the vacuous nature of her job, her lonely private life and deteriorating relations with her boss, Christine delivers the ultimate segment, live on air.
