On a sweltering Australia Day in Brisbane, the worlds of three young people collide. Indigenous teen April, young Chinese woman Lan, and Sami, an Iranian-Australian teen, are desperate and on the run. As each of their stories unfold, a farmer, Indigenous policewoman and homicide detective are also swept into a whirlpool of violence, racism and resentment.
