THE SECRET AGENT

'The Secret Agent' is the latest film by award-winning Brazilian director Kleber Mendonça Filho.

Awarded three major Cannes prizes, this explosive political thriller races through Brazil's 1977 Carnival as a father outruns a regime collapsing into darkness.

The film stars Wagner Moura ('Narcos', 'Civil War'), Udo Kier ('Blood for Dracula'), Maria Fernanda Cândido ('The Traitor'), and Gabriel Leone ('Senna'). With Oscar buzz aplenty, 'The Secret' Agent is Brazil's official submission for Best International Feature.

Competition opens at 5:00pm AEDT on Sunday 11th January 2026 and closes at 11:59 pm AEDT on Sunday 18th January 2026. Five winners will be chosen at random on Monday 19th January 2026.
