Anyone who has worked a day in their life knows that bosses can come in many forms. Some you might never see, some are lovely, while others are frankly jerks. They make your life painful, and we all have dark thoughts on how we would get revenge on them after being ask to hop on a Teams call for a "quick chat". Sam Raimi takes those dark thoughts and dials it up 11 in his new film 'Send Help'.
The film follows Linda Liddle (Rachel McAdams, 'Are You There God? It's Me Margaret', 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'). She works in the Strategy and Planning department and is overly committed to her job while living a quiet, boring, and simple life. She loves 'Survivor' and her pet bird and that is simply her whole world - nothing crazy, just a very simple existence. Her boss promised her a promotion, but he passes away and his son Bradley Preston (Dylan O'Brien, 'Twinless', 'Saturday Night') takes over the company. He is sexist, rude, uncouth corporate man. He doesn't give Linda the time of day, criticising her appearance and her smelly tuna sandwiches. Linda, however, knows a lot about the company, so Bradley takes her on a company trip to Bangkok to help assist with a merger. On the plane ride over, they crash due to a storm and end up stranded on a deserted island, with Linda and Bradley the only survivors. Bradley has an injured leg and his only way to survive is... Linda! But will she use everything she's learnt from her favourite show to survive or to torture her new boss?
'Send Help' is a delight from the opening shot to the end credits. It never misses a beat and is always turned up to 11 with how over-the-top it is. It's gory, it's funny, it's scary, it's gross. It defies genre while seamlessly blending them all together; it's a campy horror comedy at the highest level. Sam Raimi pioneered the genre, and 'Send Help' is a true artist performing at their highest level.

Both McAdams and O'Brien came to play, perfectly leaning into the wild tone of the film while deliciously playing off each other. The film balances so many tonal shifts and beats, and with them being the only actors, they pull it off flawlessly; a perfect blend of perfect casting with a darling script.
'Send Help' is a non-stop blast, bring camp back to the big screen in a fun and intentional way. From the gore to laughs, it's all perfectly balanced to make this one of 2026's funniest surprises.
