To escape a harsh existence and return home, a young Afghan cameleer partners with a mysterious bushman on the run with two 400oz Crown-marked gold bars. Together the unlikely pair must outwit a zealous police sergeant and his troopers in a race to reach a secret furnace - the one place where they can safely reset the bars to remove the mark of the Crown.

Born of test tubes in a nuclear bunker, a lonely teen is the first of a new generation of humans raised by Mother – a kindly robot designed to repopulate the Earth following the extinction of humanity. When a blood-drenched woman inexplicably arrives, beating at the shelter door, the teen is put upon to take in the stranger and, consequently, finds herself at odds with her gear-and-piston parent. Overnight, the stranger casts doubt on Mother’s claims about the outside world and begins to unravel the fabric of their insular family. Unsure who to trust, the girl begins to probe into Mother’s dubious nature and uncover the truth of her greater mission.
