There they encounter a whole new society, with a new set of rules, controlled by a brillant scientist names David. Tris is embraced by David and the leadership, causing friction in her relationship with Four. Ultimately, they must figure out how to set aside their differences to stop the violence that is overtaking Chicago, and confront an even greater threat.
