In present day Madrid, against a scorching summer heatwave, five tales of love and lust unfold. Ana (Ana Katz) and Paco (writer/director León) are stuck in a rut, but jolted by a curious invitation from their flirtatious neighbour Belén (Belén Cuesta), who has just split from her girlfriend. Beautiful young couple Alejandro (Álex García) and Natalia (Natalia de Molina, Living is Easy With Eyes Closed) face an impasse over the lingering effects of an unexpected encounter, one that has left Natalia feeling very aroused. Middle-aged José- Luis (Luis Bermejo) accidentally discovers a new form of pleasure in his relationship with demanding wife Paloma (Mari Paz Sayago). A routine task for single call- centre employee Sandra (Alexandra Jiménez) turns unexpectedly erotic, while Maria (Candela Peña, A Gun in Each Hand) accidentally discovers just how attractive her husband Antonio (Luis Callejo) can be, albeit when at his most vulnerable.

LIVING IS EASY (WITH EYES CLOSED) (2014)

t’s 1966, regional Spain: Antonio (played by the brilliant is a teacher and an obsessive Beatles fan – a passion that carries through to his classroom, where he uses the lyrics from “Help!” to teach his pupils English. By the rigid standards of the day, this makes Antonio a radical. When he learns that John Lennon is filming Richard Lester’s How I Won the War on the other side of the country, Antonio drops everything and sets out in in his tiny Fiat to find the production’s location, hoping Lennon can help him understand the lyrics to the newly released ‘Revolver’ LP.

En route, Antonio adopts two hitchhiking runaways: Juanjo, a 16-year-old boy fleeing his Franco-loving father, and Belén, 20 years old, single and pregnant, reluctantly heading home to her mother. Together they travel across the sun- drenched landscape towards a destination where they’ll learn more about themselves – and one another – than they could have ever imagined.
