Pierre returns from Wyoming to the Mayenne district of France in the late ’70s to marry his sweetheart and take over his imperious father’s farm. The couple have two children, and for many years, life is good. But the business is soon placed under enormous pressure, and what was once satisfying begins to take an insidious toll on the family.

Sports writer David Walsh is at first charmed by Lance’s charisma and talent, but as he probes further, he believes the world is being sold a lie. After speaking out about his concerns, Walsh finds himself ostracised by the cycling community. As a lone voice he perseveres, but it will be several years before Lance is exposed.

It’s been years since middle-aged restaurateur Max has received his friends at his gorgeous summer house in the chic beach community of Cap Ferret. The group have traditionally reconnected there for his birthday, but since things didn’t exactly go as planned last time, they haven’t seen much of one another. It turns out Max is divorcing and his villa is up for sale, so when pals Marie, Vincent, now-famous actor Eric and his hapless buddy-turned-assistant Antoine arrive unannounced to celebrate a significant milestone, it’s not necessarily a welcome surprise.
