In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru is growing up in the suburbs. The cover-up spins out of control when Franklin's nosy neighbours all get involved, including Tommy Balls, Rocky, Vegas stripper Simone, Mr Allspice, as well as Franklin's institutionalised brother Bernard and well-known motivation guru Dr Sage Mennox.
